Receiving the Mayor’s Award

What a delight it was this morning to have Thatcham Town Council’s Mayor, Suzanne Adamantos visit our ballet class to award us with a “Mayor’s Award”! 

What an honour, and thank you so, so much for selecting us. It’s so wonderful to have a council that genuinely cares for the arts (many of the councillors are performers themselves) and offers so many events to the public. It’s fabulous for our community-arts relationship to be recognised, and we can’t wait for Mayor Suzanne to join our ballet group!

Behind the scenes at DWSB we’re not only creating opportunities with our students, but also working with our local council to facilitate dance events for the community. In our minds, the more dance, the better! Whether that’s bringing together local dance schools or inviting non-dancers into our theatrical world, everyone should be able to enjoy dance. 

It looks like we got our 2025 award hat trick after all!
